Decoy site links to malicious download. While the decoy site is not an exact replica of the real one, it still looks very convincing: Figure 5: Comparing the legitimate site (left) with the fake one (right) Victims wanting to download KeePass will retrieve a malicious .msix installer that is digitally signed:

Protect yourself from tech support scams. Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers use scare tactics to trick you into unnecessary technical support services to supposedly fix device or software problems that don't exist. At best, the scammers are trying to get you to pay them to "fix" a nonexistent problem with your device
Free Download Manager has been updated to 6.19 and now boasts a wealth of new features and improvements. The revamped version of FDM can launch external applications after download is complete, remember the last used scheduler’s settings as default ones, and automatically remove finished downloads after a certain period specified by the user.
This often equals false positives where a safe files is similar enough to a virus files that it gets flagged. installing the mods manually is better anyways, so may as well just not get the mod manager if you don't trust it. Too late and it's a hundred time's easier. It really isn't that much easier, but manual installing is still better.
Thanks for the reply, but somehow it started working and the download actually started! Ive tried to use FDM in the past, but when I tried to download it would give me an .exe(which, would probably make sense but I was told from a friend to only accept .zip downloads because .exe's of the internet at sketchy) and the chrome extension would not work.
1. Download Plus. Download Plus is a simple yet handy download manager extension for Google Chrome. The extension shows you the list of downloaded items, along with the option to search them. From here, you can even delete items (either from the list or local storage) and open downloads in the folder.
One thing that catches a lot of people out is the placement of the domain. For example: help.twitch.tv is legit. However bonkercats.help-twitch.tv isn't legit as in this instance the domain is help-twitch.tv. Hyphens can be included in domain names. Hope this makes sense for you and to stay safer!
