4000VA Control Transformer, 240/480V to 208/110V. Write a review. $1,054.17. Hot sale 4kVA single phase control transformer step down 240/480V dual input voltage to 208/110V dual output voltage, fully electric isolation between primary side and secondary sides, is suitable for circuit of AC 50/60Hz and rated voltage 500V and below.
V1/f1=V2/f2, V1=400v (for example), and. f1= 50Hz, f2=60Hz. Then, the new voltage to be applied V2= 400x60/50=480v. This is the new required voltage to be applied to get the same motor duty as before. As you see the voltage should raise to get also the same power as before, if not the motor will consume more current and become hotter.
Thanks Jim, After looking at the motors, they are designed to run 230V delta 50Hz, 400V Y 50Hz, 267V delta 60Hz, 480V Y 60Hz. And yes, I can get 480V one way or the other. I have not looked into the availability of a 480V phase converter yet. A little background is in order. One of my best friends who I fish will all the time owns a plant nursery.
Yes I mean split phase. Sorry I get the terms mixed up. Not an electrician. I think of it in terms of there being two phases that you can combine to get 220/240v for appliances, like in a 3-phase system you can combine 2 to get 208v. But I'm aware they originate from a single phase on the line that is split, and are 180 degrees apart.
I know that a 230/400V 3phase motor requires 230V on each coil. No more and no less. So on a 3*230V grid it would be wired in Delta, on a 3*400V it would wired in Y. I went to evening school to learn about this and my course on the subject has several diagrams on this, most resembling these 2:
The formula to convert amps to kilowatts for three-phase AC circuits where the current, line-to-line RMS voltage, and power factor is known is: [1] P (kW) = I (A) × V L-L (V) × PF × √3 1,000. Thus, the power P in kilowatts is equal to the product of the current I in amps, the line-to-line voltage V in volts, the power factor PF, and the
Here is the variable high voltage dc power supply circuit, which we can customize the output voltage from 0 to 311Vdc, and it is protected the current over the limit that we define at about 100 mA. LM338 5A Variable regulator Better life with high current in same voltage 1.25V to 30V.
